Plural Sector
The plural sector is a concept of the FCAJ as an ecosystem where industry, academia, government and the private sector cooperate with each other.
The term "plural" here means that it spans multiple sectors, and is positioned as a "social x economic sector" that has the function of connecting these different social systems and organizations, and is neither "public", "private", nor "semi-public".
What we need in the 21st century, not to mention the SDGs, is social driven open innovation for the environment, cities, and wellbeing. For companies, value co-creation through ecosystems, rather than mere manufacturing, has become essential. It is clear that these issues cannot be addressed by a single company or university alone. In order to achieve this, open and programmed "places" that connect society and the economy, as well as face-to-face network places that support these places, are required. FCAJ hopes to contribute to the creation of new markets and industries, and to the creation of new social and economic systems as a "Plural Sector" that supports such places.

H. Mintzberg (2015) argues that in order to break away from the dichotomy of capitalism and socialism, we need to form a "third pillar" that is neither corporate nor government, a sector of "all entities not owned by government or investors". Mintzberg calls it the "Plural Sector" in contrast to the "Public Sector" and the "Private Sector," and says that all three sectors need to be powerful in order for society to regain its balance.
